Sean Blagsvedt, CEO

Sean is the CEO of Babajob where he seeks out great people to hire and drives the company's long-term vision and technical strategy. Prior to founding Babajob, Sean spent 9 years at Microsoft, first in the Office group as a Program Manager, working on Messenger integration, speech recognition and what was to later become the Vista sidebar. In 2002, Sean moved to the Windows Vista User Experience team, designing the Messenger experience in Vista and how the OS represents people. Finally, in fall 2004, Sean moved to Bangalore as the 3rd founding member of the Microsoft Research India (http://research.microsoft.com/india), heading the Program Management and Advanced Prototyping team, focusing on novel approaches to technology in emerging markets and new strategies in the mobile phone space.

Sean also worked at the White House with the Internet Policy czar, Ira Magaziner and in Boston with the Lotus Corporation (IBM).  Sean holds dual bachelor degrees in Computer Science and Public Policy from Brown University (1998).  He is a TED Fellow and really likes having fun too.

Vir Kashyap, COO

Vir joined Babajob in February 2009. Previously, Vir was a partner at Indavest, a venture capital and incubation firm focusing on early‐stage investments in India. At Indavest, he generated deal flow and raised capital for deal execution.

Vir started his career in New York at Morgan Stanley where he assisted the firms alternative asset management clients raise capital from a global base of investors. More recently Vir was a member of the European business development and investor relations team at Vega Asset Management. Based in Madrid, he evaluated fund managers for inclusion on the fund platform and managed relationships with the fund's global investor base.

He experience includes a stint in Silicon Valley, where over the course of three months he helped launch the enterprise computing vertical at Epinions.com (now part of eBay).

Vir received a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Religion from Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine). He is an avid traveler having visited 6 continents and enjoys listening to music.

Maya

Maya Chandrasekaran, Director of Strategic Partnerships

Maya joined Babajob in July 2010. Most recently, she was with an urban MFI, Janalakshmi Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.. At Janalakshmi Maya was involved in treasury management, fund raising activities and product development. Prior to that, Maya worked with Capvent India Private Ltd., a private equity fund of funds. Her experience also includes stints at PricewaterhouseCoopers (M&A advisory) and Infosys Technologies (Corporate Planning).

Maya has a Bachelors degree in English Literature (Grinnell College, Iowa) and a JD in Media and Management (Syracuse University, NY). She loves to travel, read and watch foodshows on TV.

Gourav

Gourav Katyal, Head of Program Management

Gourav joined Babajob in November 2012. Before babajob, he was handling various products at Eros international and Nokia as a product manager.

Gourav started his career at Honeywell, India as a techie, building embedded software for business and passenger jets. After getting bored of waiting for a couple of years to see his code actually being used by the end customer he decided to jump into the big bad world of web and consumer products.

Gourav completed his B.E in electronics from UVCE, Bangalore; Masters in IT from IIIT Bangalore and MBA(PGSEM) from IIM, Bangalore. When not bugging developers with questions, he likes to spend his time riding his bike, reading, watching movies, listening to music and sometimes jumping out of planes.

Shashi

Shashi Singh, Head of Engineering

Shashi has been with Babajob for over 2 years and has worn many hats in Engineering during this time, from developing features and resolving customer complaints to scaling the website to thousands of users and recruiting for the engineering team. Now, he is additionaly responsible for ensuring that the day to day decisions made by the engineering team are in line with the objective of building a stable, scalable and robust system which fulfills the business goals.

He is an Electrical Engineering graduate from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. He started his career with Tesco, working on IT Service Management and later on .NET Development. After three years at Tesco, he took the "leap of faith" to start Mauryan Web, a bootstrapped startup building "CAT NINJA", a gamified app for MBA aspirants in India. As the sole founder, he was responsible for everything and thus developed a very hands on approach to tackling problems. He also built the website swinefluindia.com, during the swine flu pandemic scare of 2009. The site was ranked first in Google Search results for a long time and he and his friends received appreciation from the press and Indians across the world for their work.

In his free time, he likes to read, listen to music, chat with friends, cook or just go on a ride on his cycle.

Viraj Sinha, Software Engineer Intern

In his own words : "A current fourth year Computer Science and Engg. undergrad student at Manipal Institute of Technology taking baby steps forward in the real world with Babajob. I love Tennis, Badminton, Cricket and doing what told not to do which is understandable from the fact that I suppport Arsenal. Oh yea and I love blabbering about myself so I better end this...."

Aakansha Nagwani, Software Engineer Intern

In her own words: "I am a final year student studying Computer Science and Engg. from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. Prior to Babajob, I had done my summer internship at Microsoft in Hyderabad. I like dancing and reading and am a movie buff."

Vinay Vasant, Head of Employer Relations

At Babajob, I manage our call center, helping employers post their jobs on our site.

Prior to joining Babajob, I had worked in Banking & Media sectors (BCCL-Times Group, Citi group, Standard Chartered). I am from "God's own country"..Kerala and my family includes my parents & sister. As a person, I am quite jovial, fun-loving, passionate, focused, supportive and prefer to 'do things differently'. My passion is music..am a singer (sing for stage shows,karaoke shows & other events in the city) and a 'self-trained' guitarist & keyboard player. I am happy & proud to be part of the Babajob team..the environment is quite 'homely'. And it feels good to be able to make a change in the informal sector.

Anjan

Anjan Kumar, Regional Sales Manager

Anjan is responsible for generating sales.

He is a sales professional with extensive experience and management skills. Sales is his passion. For the past 13 years, he has worked across various industries that range from pharmaceuticals to digital retail, and everything in between. Anjan worked at MonsterIndia.com as a Sales Manager for 4.5 years before joining Babajob. Anjan graduated from Bangalore University in 1997 with a science degree. In his free time, Anjan enjoys traveling and agri-farming.

Sairam

Sairam Batal, Data Acquisition Executive

Sairam is the Data Acquisition Executive at Babajob. He calls employers to help post their job listings on our website.

Sairam worked at Kean International for 2.5 years as an administrative assistant and afterwards at Mphasis for 1 year as a customer support executive before joining the Babajob team. He is from Odisha, or Orissa, home of the traditional Ghumura Dance. Sairam keeps fit by going to the gym and playing cricket, as well as other sports. He enjoys listening to music and wearing large, pointed, leather loafers.

Vinod Kumar, Senior Customer Support Executive

In Vinod's words:
"I was born and brought up in near the Kolar Gold Field in Karnataka.
Prior to Babajob, I have worked as a Marketing Manager in Target Express for 2 years.

Pramod Shastry, Job Seeker Acquisition Executive

Pramod works in our job seekers customer service department, helping people set up their account and look for jobs.

He is from the historical city of Mysore. Prior to joining Babajob, Pramod worked at Power One Micro Systems Private Ltd. as a Marketing Executive. He actually set up a Babajob account, utilizing both its mobile and digital features, to search for different office jobs before ending up with us. Pramod enjoys going to the movies and having time to himself to meditate and think about the meaning of life.

Vinod Manova, Administrative Assistant

Vinod has been at Babjob since its inception. He has worn many hats during his time with us; working as a Marketing Executive, a translator, and even as a customer care representative before settling into his current position, Administrative Assistant.

His boundless energy and playful antics liven up the staff daily. Before joining Babajob, Vinod worked as a driver in Bangalore. Vinod enjoys eating meat, making friends, and keeping his facial hair stylish with aid of his handy-dandy moustache comb.

Arati Sahu, Data Acquisition Executive

Arati joined Babajob a few months ago, as Data Acquisition Executive. Previously she was working at Genisys Software as Customer Care Executive.

Arati is a native of Odisha. She has her Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Odisha University. She is quite shy, but does not hold back when it comes to adventure. Her hobbies include listening to music and reading novels. Her favorite author is Chetan Bhagat

Kiran Kumar, Data Acquisition Executive

Kiran joined Babajob in May of 2011. As a Data Acquisition Executive, he engages with employers and helps them list job posting on the Babajob website. Kiran was born and brought up in Kolar Gold Field. Prior to Babajob, he worked as a Customer Support Executive for 3 years at Genesis Infratech Private Limited. His hobbies include: playing football, hockey, and cricket; as well as listening music. In Kiran’s own words, “I am proud to be a part of the Babajob team, where there is a good work environment, good colleagues, and supportive management.”

Prema Sham Rao, Office Manager

Prema joined Babajob in May of 2012 as Office Manager. Her prime responsibilities here are pay roll, TDS, service tax processing, and office management. Prior to this, she worked as a HR Executive.

Prema was born and brought up in The Garden City of Bangalore. She holds an MBA from Bangalore University. She loves her family very much and considers them her strength. Prema’s mottos are: “Love Life. Do Good. Live Well” and “N’joy Each Moment Of Our Life.”

Dhanalakshmi Parameshwara, Domestic Technician

Dhanalakshmi has been the resident motherly figure at Babajob for almost two years. She makes sure that we have a clean working environment and brings us tea and goodies when we run out of steam. Before joining us, Dhanalakshmi worked for a family for three years, a job which she found through babajob.com. She enjoys wearing saris and eating vegetarian food.

Jessica Chittaphong, IDEX Fellow

Jessica comes to us through a program that helps young social entrepreneurs gain experience. She will be helping Babajob increase engagement on the web. As a component to this she will also be working on video/photo testimonials highlighting those that have used our service. While doing all that she will be doing her best to learn about the field of social entrepreneurship in India.

Jessica recently completed her MSc in Global History from the London School of Economics. There she researched the evolution of globalization and economic development. During undergrad, she studied international relations at the University of the Pacific in California. Before starting her Master’s she worked for a social enterprise in the Philippines, where she helped with marketing and social impact analysis. Jessica enjoys reading history books and listening to Frank Sinatra songs.


Evelyne Kiambati, AIESEC Fellow

Prior to joining Babajob, Evelyne worked with Unilever ESA, AIESEC and interned at the African Trade Insurance Agency. Evelyne joined Babajob through AIESEC, the World’s largest student run organization. Though she originally holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from University of Nairobi, Evelyne has a passion for marketing.

Hailing from Kenya, she knows too well the relevance of social entrepreneurship in emerging countries and the role they can play in a country's economic and social growth. While at Babajob, she will be working on business development and marketing. She loves traveling and will be attempting to travel to India’s 28 states during her 12 month stint.

Ira Weise

Ira worked as the Managing Director of Babajob from its inception until April 2008, when he re-located back to the United States.

Prior to Babajob, Ira founded a variety of companies as an experienced entrepreneur over the last 25 years. In 1983, he and a fellow law school friend started 800-Software, one of the US's first mail order software companies, and the first to offer free technical support, toll free order lines, and shipment from an existing inventory.  When it was sold to Digital Equipment 10 years later, it was one of the nation's five largest software retailers, with offices throughout the US and annual sales of $180 million. Following 800-Software, Ira was president of Software Sciences in Eugene, Oregon which created and sold software for the residential real estate industry until his retirement in 1996. Prior to starting 800 Software he taught elementary school in California and Jakarta, Indonesia, practiced law in San Jose, California, worked as an adjunct faculty member at the USF School of Law and started a real estate foreclosure company. Ira holds a JD degree from USF, a Masters in Educational Administration from California State University at San Francisco and a bachelor's degree from University of California at Santa Cruz. 

Ashwin Mahesh

Ash is the CEO of Mapunity.in, where, in his words, his job "lets him explore many ways in which technology can help meet the challenges posed by social problems, and act as an evangelist for some of those things to happen." Ashwin also co-edits the public affairs magazine, India Together, and is on the Visiting Faculty at IIM Bangalore's Centre for Public Policy.  He happens to have a PhD in climatology and once ran laser satellites over Antarctica for NASA as well.

Tim Campbell

Tim Campbell is the founder and managing director of Maymont Capital Advisors AG, a Zurich based company providing research and advisory services to venture capital and private equity investors. Tim previously worked for venture fund Richmond Global, overseeing the fund’s investments in India from New Delhi, where he focused on investments in emerging communications technologies including mobile payments, mobile advertising, and messaging.

Prior to joining Richmond Global, Tim studied European political integration and transatlantic relations as a policy analyst at the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis (IFPA) in Washington, D.C. and at the Centre Français sur les Etats-Unis at the Instut Français des Relations Internationales (CFE-IFRI) in Paris. Tim began his career interest in telecommunications as a financial analyst for MCI WorldCom; he also worked as a financial analyst for CapitalOne Financial. Tim graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and earned a B.A. in Economics from the College of William and Mary. Tim currently serves on the board of C&J Clark, Ltd.

Vibhore Goyal

Prior to Babajob.com, Vibhore worked as a developer for Microsoft Research India on a variety of projects including Virtual India (virtualindia.msresearch.in) and the MSRIndia SMS Server (www.codeplex.com/smstoolkit). Before joining MSR, he was the founding member of several other companies including ROS, which built Linux based OSs for mobile phones. Vibhore's areas of interest include Security & Networking and he holds a B. Tech. + M. Tech. in Electrical Engg. from IIT Bombay.

Ravi Venkatesan

Ravi is the former chairman of Microsoft India and was voted the Most Influential MNC CEO of 2011 by the Economic Times. He is on the board of a number of enterprises, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations.

Before Microsoft, Ravi worked at Cummins Inc., the world’s leader in engines and related technology, for sixteen years. As chairman of Cummins India Limited, he helped transform the company into the leading provider of power solutions and automotive engines in the country. Ravi also has an illustrious academic career. Graduating and receiving awards from top universities in both India and the States. He has frequently contributed to the Harvard Business Review and is currently working on a book under a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation. Brian Cayce

Brian is the Vice President at Gray Ghost Ventures. Actively involved in establishing Gray Ghost’s impact-oriented venture capital investing, Brian currently leads the firm's analysis, evaluation, execution and governance of venture capital investment opportunities. He manages a varied portfolio and has sourced, executed and/or performed governance roles for the following investments: MicroPlace (2006 – eBay); RentBureau (2006 – Experian); ParaLife (2006); United Villages (2007); CellBazaar (2007 – Telenor); d.light (2007); SourceTrace (2007); BEAM (2008), Emergence BioEnergy (2008), iSend (2009), Movirtu (2009), mDhil (2009), PharmaSecure (2009), bKash (2010), M-Kopa (2011) and Babajob (2012).
