SUMMARY
Looking for an experienced Hair Stylist who can cut, style, shampoo, colour, straighten and permanently wave hair with chemical solutions, as well as provide clients with hair and scalp treatments. The stylist should have good communication skills, a pleasant personality and most importantly, a good attitude.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Analyze patrons' (ladies, gents and kids) hair and other physical features to determine and recommend hair styles.
• Shampoo, rinse, condition and dry hair and scalp or hairpieces with water, liquid soap, or other solutions.
• Cut, trim and shape hair or hairpieces, based on customers' instructions, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors.
• Apply water, setting, straightening, rebonding or waving solutions to hair and use curlers, rollers, hot combs and curling irons to press and curl hair.
• Comb, brush, add extensions and spray hair or wigs to set style.
• Develop new styles and techniques or get trained on them.
• Bleach, dye, or tint hair, using applicator or brush.
• Shave and trim beards and moustaches.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods
• Keep work stations and salon clean and sanitize tools such as scissors and combs.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Looking for a stylist with good communication skills, a pleasant personality and most importantly, a good attitude.
• When required, perform reception duties such as welcoming patrons, answering telephone calls and scheduling appointments.
• Operate computer and cash registers to print sales receipts and receive payments from patrons.
• Operate computer to update and maintain customer information records such as patron details and beauty services provided.
• From a behavioral and personal requirement standpoint, the stylist should be able to work under pressure and have patience, attention to detail and some creative flair.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Experienced hair stylist with 5 years of experience.
• Most of the experience should be in well-established beauty salons.
• Preferably should have obtained training from a reputable training institute.
